What is a Lucas number?

The Lucas numbers are a sequence of integers. They are closely related to Fibonacci numbers, and these numbers are named after Francois Edouard Anatole Lucas. The Lucas series has a recursive relationship where each term in the series is the sum of the previous two terms. The Lucas series and Fibonacci numbers have different starting values. The first two terms of the Lucas numbers are 2 and 1, while the first two in the Fibonacci numbers are 0 and 1. The Lucas number is usually denoted by Ln.

The Lucas numbers can be defined as follows:
