Find all factors calculator is a free online tool for finding all factors of the number, including ordinary factors, prime factors and proper factors.
What are factors, prime factors and proper factors?
The factor means that the quotient of the integer A divided by the integer B is exactly an integer without a remainder. We say that B is a factor of A. For example: 12 divided by 3 equals 0, so 3 is a factor of 12.
The prime factor is the combination of prime number and factor. If the factor happens to be a prime number, then this factor is called a prime factor. For example, the factor 3 above is just a prime number, so the factor 3 is also called a prime factor of 12.
Proper factor refers to all factors except itself. For example, the factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12. Then excluding itself, the proper factors of 12 are 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6.
For example, the factors of 18 are 1, 2, 3, 6, 9 and 18. Among them, 2 and 3 are prime numbers, so the prime factors of 18 are 2 and 3. The proper factors must exclude itself, so the proper factors of 18 are 1, 2, 3, 6 and 9.
It can be seen that the factors contain prime factors. There is a difference between the factors and proper factors, which is the number itself. The order of the three ranges from large to small is: the largest is factors, the next is proper factors, and the smallest is prime factors.
