- If all the numbers in the data set have the same value, then the arithmetic mean also has the same value.
- If the algebraic sum of the deviations of a set of numbers is zero, their arithmetic mean is always zero.
- If each value of the data in the set of collection increases or decreases by the same fixed value, then the mean will also increase or decrease by the same value.
- If each data in the set of collection of numbers is multiplied or divided by the same value, the mean is also multiplied or divided by the same value.
